Gladstone Road (火車路) is a road that used to run from Komtar to Carnarvon Circus in George Town, Penang. It was named after William Ewart Gladstone (1809-1898), who served as Prime Minister of Britain for four times. Gladstone Road in Penang was laid out about the time when George Town began to expand outward across the Prangin Canal. The attap houses of Koay Kangnga ("Village Across the River") were replaced with brick shophouses and townhouses. Gladstone Road lasted until the early 1980's, when it was wiped off the map by the Komtar urban redevelopment project, replaced eventually by the Komtar Bus Terminal.
