Armenian trading networks have been active in Southeast Asia since at least the fifteenth century. The nature of these hubs is shown by community sites such as the Armenian Church in Singapore, and Armenian Street in Penang.
The major hubs of Armenian networks shifted according to the rise and fall of ports. Yangon was a significant hub for many centuries, as was Penang.
