Eventually, however, boria was tamed and made into a more or less respectable performing art form, especially when they were  included within popular arts that were promoted in the amusement parks that mushroomed in urban centres throughout the Malay world from the 1930s until the 1960s. The Great World Amusement Park was one such venue.
