At 11AM, 3 Aug 1867, a musketry fire commenced between the Ghee Hins and Toh Peh Kongs, about twenty men on each side, the former stationed in Chualia Strett, the latter, at the foot of that street and beach St, there were about 100 yards interval between them. A desultory fire was kept up until 1PM.
